Well, I've been totally stuck on what to write about the last few days. I've been up, I've been down, and just when I think I'll post about either, the other one swings in to play. Is this making any sense? So, I thought I'd talk about something that does AND doesn't really have to do with what's happening right now... Sunday was my 6th wedding anniversary to my wonderful husband and friend. Although I spent a total of about 4 waking hours with him that day, I reflected on what a blessing our life together has been so far. When I was young an adult told me to make a list of everything I wanted in a spouse and pray for it. If I did, that's what I'd get. I literally laughed out loud. I was sure that there was no ideal mate for me, and I would end up settling for whoever turned out to be the best I could get at the time (cynical, I know). But, I did the exercise (kinda out of spite) since everyone else in the class was doing it. I put silly things like "taller than me" on it, but I put serious things too. Much to my surprise, (and so many years later, that I'd almost forgotten about it) I met Ty. Some time into the relationship it hit me...he'd already checked a few things off the list. As our relationship grew, more an more things got "checked." Some in very sentimental, special ways; some I hardly realized. One night as I lay in bed, I thanked God for having Ty in my life, and I realized I'd checked off the last thing on my list. I had asked for a man that was so special to me, that I couldn't help but thank God for placing him in my life. Well, as you know, the story continued, and I have not stopped thanking him for my wonderful husband. Here's hoping for 6 +66 more great years. Happy Anniversary baby!
